First Baptist Church of Marion has had an ongoing relationship with the Baptists of Belize since 2005. Over these 15 years, you have been a big part of this partnership, participating in the trips and supporting the ministry. Our Belize Lead Team has announced another mission trip for next year. Our work will continue an emphasis in the western region of the country. Our construction crew will continue work on the Santa Elena Baptist Primary School, helping complete a second story addition. The medical team will provide free medical clinics to four underserved communities, several near the Guatemalan Border where there is a large immigrant population. The itinerary will include 8 nights, staying in Santa Elena at the Aguada Hotel, and flying American Airline’s direct flight from Charlotte to Belize City. The final weekend will include inland R&R opportunities, which have not yet been determined. Typical of our pattern, team members provide for their own travel costs, which is estimated to be $1,700 per person. Trip details are covered in the attached document. If you are interested, please signup on the clipboard at church or contact Scott Hagaman directly. Registration deadline is Sunday, September 22. For medical professionals, we will need to begin processing your temporary licenses with the Belize Ministry of Health before September 22, so please contact me now if you are interested in going.
