Mwangaza Children’s Choir Concert

The Mwangaza Children’s Choir, started in 2004, is an initiative of Africa Renewal Ministries to increase the awareness of ARM in the western world. The choir is made up of 20 musically talented children, ages 8-12, who admirably represent the orphaned and poverty-stricken youth of Uganda. The choir, which is based in Gaba, Uganda, tours as a ministry outreach of Africa Renewal Ministries to share a special message of hope through original Ugandan song and dance. In the process, the children seek to raise awareness of and resources for the churches, schools, orphanage, medical clinics and child sponsorships programs that have been established by Africa Renewal Ministries.

Mwangaza (pronounced m-wahn-GAH-zah) is a Swahili word for “shining light.” Since its inception in 2004, Africa Renewel Ministries has sent out 9 different choir tours across the United States and the UK.

The Mwangaza Children’s Choir will be in concert at Blanton’s Family Ministry Center at 99 N. Main Street in downtown Marion on May 31st at 6:30 p.m. This special event is open to the public to enjoy without charge by First Baptist Church of Marion.800X500 Poster
